Take a Summer Adult Education Class |
| Posted on: 6/4/2009 2:11:05 PM |
There are a lot of good, practical reasons to make learning something new a part of your life.
Here are some down-to-earth benefits of learning:
Learning across a wide range of subjects gives us a range of perspectives to call on in our own narrow day-to-day areas of specialization.
Learning helps us more easily and readily adapt to new situations.
A broad knowledge of unfamiliar situations feeds innovation by inspiring us to think creatively and providing examples to follow.
Learning deepens our character and makes us more inspiring to those around us.
Learning makes us more confident.
Learning instills an understanding of the historical, social, and natural processes that impact and limit our lives.

Swine Flu Information |
| Posted on: 4/30/2009 10:12:28 PM |
SWINE FLU INFORMATION We, along with all school districts in Santa
Clara County, are working with the Public Health Department to be as
pro-active about this situation as possible. As of noon 4/29/09, there
is one probable case of swine flu in the County, a 16 year-old girl who
was never hospitalized and is at home recovering. Based on this
incident, the Santa Clara County Health Officer, in conjunction with
the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, closed Branham High
School starting today, April 29th. Santa Clara County officials
continue to monitor this situation closely, testing all possible cases.
Symptoms
of the Swine Flu (H1N1 flu) temperature of 102 or higher, achiness,
runny nose, coughing and a general feeling of being unwell.
The
California Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention recommend following these flu prevention tips:
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective. Try to avoid close contact with sick people. If you get sick with flu, it is recommended that you stay home from work or school WASH YOUR HANDS District
staff will continue to monitor information from the Santa Clara County
Health Department and share pertinent updates with you.

May has arrived and the 2008-2009 school year is drawing to a close. As we enter these last few weeks of school I want to thank all of the staff for their hard work making this is a positive and enriched experience for both the adults and children enrolled in our classes. I also want to thank the parents who work hard to ensure that the children are safe and cared for during their time in school. It is because of this cooperative link between families and teachers that Bright Beginnings is able to provide support and learning for all of our students. As we look forward to summer school and classes for next year, it is important to take time to remember and value this unique time in our lives.
